Event Description

The Imperial College London conference, organized by AIMS (African Institute of Mathematics and Science), focused on leveraging Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to promote sustainable development. The event, held from November 23rd to 28th, 2024, brought together experts and practitioners from Aims Rwanda alumini of Aims camreroon and for Hence student from all over the country in particular two students in Master 2 from the Centre for Cybersecurity and Mathematical Cryptology (Chaleu wansi Hilary  and Djakba Faustin) to discuss the latest advancements in DS ( Data Science) and AI ( Artificial Intelligence ), as well as their potential applications in sectors like agriculture, energy, climate, finance, and health.
It also included a round table where they discuss
Harnessing the power of data: Exploring how data science can be used to analyze large datasets and extract valuable insights for decision-making.
AI ( Artificial Intelligence ) for sustainable solutions: Discussing the role of AI in developing innovative solutions to address environmental and social challenges.
Ethical considerations: Addressing the ethical implications of using AI and ensuring responsible development and deployment.
Collaboration and partnerships: Fostering collaboration between researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to drive sustainable development.
The conference aimed to inspire and empower participants to utilize DS ( Data Science ) and AI ( Artificial Intelligence ) tools to contribute to a more sustainable future. Finally they had a hackathon session where they propose innovative solution on agriculture, health and energy it was quite challenging but also a very impactful moment.
