Event Description
We are honored to have learned from two exceptional experts this week: *Prof. Bastien BODART *, who guided us through Reverse Engineering, and *Prof. Benjamin Vandamme*, who led the Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking sessions. Both hail from Belgium and brought their vast knowledge and expertise to make this experience truly enriching.
Topic's covered:
* *Privilege Escalation*: Mastering the art of navigating access levels to uncover hidden opportunities.
* *Brute-Force Attacks*: Exploring password-cracking techniques and learning how to defend against them.
* *Service Enumeration*: Diving deep into network services to identify vulnerabilities.
* *Active Directory Exploitation*: Understanding and navigating directory-based attacks and defenses.
* *Reverse Engineering*: Decoding and analyzing software to uncover vulnerabilities and secrets.
Beyond the CTF, our students also delved into *Reverse Engineering Labs, using powerful tools like **Ghidra* and *GDB*, as well as commands like strings and file, to analyze malware and exploit software vulnerabilities. These exercises provided invaluable insights into identifying threats and injecting defensive or malicious code where needed.
A Week of Intense Learning*:
Starting Monday and concluding today, Saturday, this week has been an incredible journey. Under the guidance of experts in the field, we explored penetration testing, malware analysis, and exploit development. These hands-on experiences not only strengthened their technical capabilities but also deepened their understanding of real-world cybersecurity challenges.
Why It Matters*:
In an era where cybersecurity threats are on the rise, these exercises equip our students with the practical knowledge and tools to stay ahead. It's not just about learning attacks but about building stronger defenses.
