Event Description
On October 17th, 2024, the University of Bamenda's Centre for Cybersecurity and Mathematical Cryptology hosted a certification exam in its computer laboratory. The exam was administered by the EC Council, a renowned organization in the field of cybersecurity. The exam covered three key areas:
1. Ethical Hacking: This component tested the candidates' knowledge and skills in identifying vulnerabilities and weaknesses in computer systems and networks, and exploiting them to gain unauthorized access.
2. Network Defense Essentials: This part of the exam assessed the candidates' understanding of network security principles, protocols, and technologies, as well as their ability to design and implement secure network architectures.
3. Digital Forensics: This section evaluated the candidates' expertise in collecting, analyzing, and preserving digital evidence, as well as their ability to investigate cybercrimes and incidents.
The exam was proctored by the Centre's staff, and the candidates were from various backgrounds, including students, professionals, and enthusiasts in the field of cybersecurity. The certification exam was a great opportunity for the candidates to demonstrate their knowledge and skills in these critical areas of cybersecurity and enhance their career prospects."
