Event Description

Efforts to enhance the resilience of Cameroon's national cyberspace by developing and using local  cryptologic solutions have come under focus in Douala within the context of #AfricaCrypt2024 Conference co-organised by ANTIC and the University of Bamenda (UBa) in collaboration with eight topnotch global tech industries. The three-day Conference which went underway today has convened researchers in cryptology from across Africa, Europe, Asia and USA who are sharing experiences and research findings in cryptology which is the science of securing messages and transactions online with the aid of algorithms that guarantee three key security services notably: data integrity, confidentiality and availability.

Speaking at the Conference, ANTIC'S Director General, #ProfEbotEbotEnaw, entreated local researchers and participants drawn from the Centre for Cybersecurity and Mathematical Cryptology of UBa to leverage the experiences and knowledge being shared at the Conference to bridge the cyber security gap created by impediments faced in the importation of foreign solutions, by developing local  solutions that adequately respond to local needs and realities.
