The University of Douala welcomes the CIMPA 2024 School on Algebra and Algebraic Geometry
On July 15, 2024, the University of Douala opened the doors of the CIMPA 2024 School, a high-level training event on algebra and algebraic geometry, as well as their applications in the fields of theory of information and cryptography.
Organized in partnership with the International Center for Pure and Applied Mathematics (CIMPA), this thematic school brings together participants from all over Africa, including a large delegation from the University of Bamenda.
Professor Emmanuel Fouotsa, coordinator of the Center for Cybersecurity and Mathematical Cryptology at the University of Bamenda, is the scientific coordinator of this 2024 edition of the CIMPA School.
For two weeks, participants will benefit from an intensive program combining lectures, practical workshops, seminars and round tables. They will also have the opportunity to present their own research work.
“This CIMPA school is a unique opportunity for African students and young researchers to train with international experts and develop their skills in algebra, algebraic geometry and their applications,” underlined Professor Fouotsa. We are delighted to contribute to the success of this event.
The CIMPA 2024 School at the University of Douala marks an important milestone in building capacity in applied mathematics and information theory on the African continent.
