An insightful and inspiring way to begin the week, as the students at the Centre For Cybersecurity and Mathematical Cryptology were honored to host the renowned Dr. Divine Anye, A Threat Defender from Capitol Technology University and American Military University (USA).
He gave an amazing talk and specified knowledge on the topic, Security Challenges in the Digital World.
We started this session as he shared his remarkable journey in Cybersecurity, emphasizing the importance of:
* Right mindset: Embrace a growth mindset and stay curious.
* Shape yourself towards the Cyber future: Adapt to the evolving landscape of cybersecurity.
* Being Intentional about life and Challenging yourself: Set goals and challenge yourself.
* Being Trustworthy : Build trust and integrity in your work.
* Self-awareness: Identify your strengths and develop your skills.
•Collaborate to Innovate : Innovate through teamwork.
* Marketing yourself : Showcase your abilities and brand yourself.
* Build resume and Build Relationships (Networking): Build relationships and expand your connections.
* Certifications: Enhance your credibility with industry-recognized certifications.
This motivation did not focus only on the good experience but also he talk about the challenges during his career roadmap.
Later on we focused on how to improve ourselves to succeed in this field of Cybersecurity. He advised students to:
* Learn from mistakes: Identify areas for improvement instead of self-criticism.
* Giving value to your services: Recognize the worth of your skills.
* Contributing to Conferences, Workshops, Webinars and Hackathons: Share your knowledge through conferences and events.
* Making things Sloganized: Share the knowledge and Simplify complex topics for others.
Dr. Anye's session was an invaluable learning experience for our students, providing them with insights from a cybersecurity trailblazer. We are grateful for his contribution and the inspiration he has ignited in our future cybersecurity professionals.
