Event Description
Students of The University of Bamenda Centre for Cybersecurity and Mathematical Cryptology are starting the new year 2024 with practical sessions offered by two renowned lecturers from Belgium, especially from Henallux ( Haute École de Namur Liège Luxembourg)
These computer practical classes allow students to deepen their understanding of cybersecurity issues and to acquire essential practical skills in this constantly evolving field.
Students have the opportunity to put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired during their training. They cover various aspects of cybersecurity, such as vulnerability scanning, intrusion detection, securing networks and systems, and security incident management.
Based on Labs reflecting to date security challenges correctly prepared by the lecturers, students are provided with an interactive learning experience where they can apply theoretical concepts to real-world situations.
They are encouraged to solve complex security problems, work in teams and develop essential practical skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and informed decision-making.
This practical work allows students to develop their practical skills in cybersecurity, strengthen their understanding of the issues related to this area and prepare themselves to meet the challenges of digital security.
The Network security and Administration system course provided us with practical knowledge and skills in network management and administration
Network architecture and topology, Configuration of routers and switches
We have actively participated in the practical sessions of the course. They performed switch configurations, set up virtual local area networks (VLANs), and conducted connectivity tests. They also learned how to manage IP addresses and resolve common network-related issues.
